Picture Scavenger Hunt

Last week some friends and I went on a picture scavenger hunt! You know, the kind with the crazy lists and you take pictures of eachother doing dumb things? That's the one! we had a lot of fun! There were 8 of us so we split up into two groups of 4! Everything went smoothly until the end where Brandon's car died and the other team had to give us a jump! When we called they thought we were cheating! Here are some of the pictures for you to enjoy! (Im missing a few, like the fire station one)

Cibique

Saturday I went on the best hike ive ever been on! We went to Cibique (past Globe) and spent all day hiking from 7:30-6:30! it was awesome!! Theres so much to say about it so ill just let the pictures do the talking...

Poor Sean! We had been hiking for about 3 minutes when he ran into a branch & cut his eye! Luckily Mitch had a small first Aid kit & no one fainted from the sight of gushing blood!

Waterfall #1 it was pretty! the water was cold but we were hot from hiking anyways!

There was a small ledge so we crawled to the end of it!

We were all getting ready to jump off! i thought "hey instead of jumping off into the freezing water ill just climb down the rocks!" bad idea! i couldnt go back the way i came so it was either jump or be left! So i started climbing down and lo & behold i slipped! next thing i knew i opened my eyes and saw dirty water over my head! my first thought..."oh crap!" Jarod, Mitch (the upside down one) and Sean!After we scaled a giant rock wall with a rope latter and hiked another 2 miles we made it to Waterfall #2! it was more like 3 waterfalls put together! it was awesome! the water was so strong it kept pushing me down! Brandon & IOn the way to the 2nd waterfall you have to spider climb up the walls & through the raging waterfall! It was fun & made me feel very athletic! Luckily I had 4 guys to help me cause i wouldnt have made it up that waterfall by myself! Going down it, however, is another story! The water was pushing me so hard i had to have one guy on top holding my hand and one guy helping me down! They were probably thinking "who brought a GIRL!"Yes, i did eventually make it over the waterfall & spider climbed down the walls & back into the neck high water for out long swim/hike out of there!We "hung around" for a while to take pictures (noticed Mitch's foot on Jared's head!). I, however, was distracted and disgusted by the frogs on the wall! i despise frogs! everytime i went to place my foot or grab a rock i noticed a frog clinging to the wall! i had to take a deep breath & try my best to ignore them! it didnt help that Jarod caught one & chased me around with it! gross!After a long day of hiking you cant leave waterfall #1 without cliff jumping! We had to talk Mitch out of backflipping but his jump still looked cool anyways! Everyone fell asleep during the ride home (some with their eyes open....Jarod!! creepy) Then we stopped for Taco Bell and went home & showered!...At least i hope everyone showered!!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

Saturday and Monday my friends and I went to the Diamondbacks game! Im not a huge basball fan but when theres free tickets involved im there! it was fun! We beat the Pirates on Sat. but lost to the Phillies on Mon! I also hit it off with the Phillies outfielder Jayson Werth! Apparently constant waving everytime he turns around gets you a glove wave and a head nod! Yeah we pretty much hit it off! haha
The car ride was probably the most fun! Ive never heard that many guys singing the Backstreet Boys at the top of their lungs!
And Taylor Swift won over the whole country! This specific car full of guys especially! They knew all the words! haha
Im ready for the next Diamondbacks game!
For its 1...2...3 strikes your out at the ol' ball game!!!

About 2 weeks ago my friend Kirstie got married in the Salt Lake Temple. Her older sister got married the next day at the Mesa Temple. They switched off being eachother's bridesmaides and had receptions in Utah and Arizona. I went to Elisha's reception on Saturday night! I got to meet both of their new husbands! They were very nice and very cute! Afterwards Kirstie, her husband Bryce, and I met up with Sarah at Ocean Blue for some ice cream! We sat outside for about 2 hours reminiscing on old times and letting Bryce in on all Kirstie's embarassing moments! We talked about things we did in elementary school, junior high, and high school! Wow we've known eachother a long time! It was so fun to catch up and i laughed so hard i cried! But that's what good friends do to ya!

State Boards

Today i took my state board test for cosmotology! I was nervous (no practice for 3 months will do that to ya) but when it finally started it was no problem! I think i did pretty well! Today was the practical exam (3 long hours of silence & staring judges) and tomorrow i take my written test! fingers crossed i passed & tomorrow will be a breeze!

Canyon Lake-Cliff Jumping

Last Thursday some friends and I went to Canyon Lake and went cliff jumping! im a little chicken so i didnt jump off the huge cliff but i did do a back flip off a cliff...thats cool!....right? haha

Last week my family & I went to a fiesta! a REAL fiesta! with no English, crazy Spanish music, good food, dancing, and cute kids! it was fun! also a humbling experience! i met 2 boys, twins to be exact! Bryan and Brandon! they were so cute the just stared at me and smiled! my boyfriend needs not be worried...theyre only 2!

So yesterday i was shopping and i get a call from my mom! she said "wanna come to this movie premier?" At first i was thinking, "but im SHOPPING!" then i decided eh i guess ill go! it was fun! Tempe won an online voting survey to get the world premier of X-men Wolverine at the Tempe Town Marketplace! its the first time a world premier has been in Arizona and they said it wont be the last! Dan Harkins (creator of Harkins Theatre) was there and the Mayor of Tempe officially declared April 27, 2009 X-Men day in Tempe! we got to see the cast, Wolf from American Gladiators, Scott from American Idol, and Kiss FM. Although we didnt get to go in to see the movie, i'll be seeing it at the midnight showing on Thursday!

Old Memories...

So I have some old memories!...who doesnt? One of my favorites was our Utah trip! A week after our high school graduation 2 friends & i took a trip to Utah! we stayed with an elementary friend, Kirstie! We dropped Bradyn off at EFY and the rest of the week was GiRlS Week!

Some tips we learned on our road trip...

Buy ice for the cooler before you leave...not 8 hours later! Thats too late!

Don't let Bradyn drive!...its our own fault! we were warned by his mom not to let Bradyn drive! Let's just say i woke up to red & blue flashing lights and a cop saying, "did you know you were following too close to that semi?"...WHAT!?

Don't "partyboy" random people during a dance in the dark and run away unrecognized! They will be dazed and confused the rest of the dance!

Get a MAP!! this will allow the trip to take the usual 12 hours not 15!!

Don't dress like an Alien! you will scare off any potential friends!

Don't go to bonfires being the "new girls"...the mean boys will throw you in the lake!

If you want to do anything dangerous dont let the "worried one" know! Once Sarah fell asleep Bradyn & i went 105 mph in her car! shhh...

We went to Pleasant Grove's graduation ceremony, a high school dance, the mall, a trampoline sleepover, game night, a bonfire, hung out at the BYU campus, ate at the best pizza restaurant ever, a drive to who knows where to find an Arby's, a waterfall and caves during out hike through the Timpinogas mountains! We picked up Bradyn and made a stop at temple square before heading home!

So i have some pretty cool friends and after i graduated they decided it was "Whitney's Night"! They took me out to dinner, my choice, at Applebee's! Kevin & Chad both payed leaving me happy & full! haha Theyre awesome! The pics are terrible but good enough for now!

I ate a full plate of ribs, fries, and strawberry lemonade after strawberry lemonade!

I wish i couldve gotten a better pic of Chad but it was impossible! haha

We Survived The North!

This weekend my grandma took my cousins, my sister & i up to Heber! We stayed with my aunt & uncle and ALL the other cousins & grandkids! Lets just say 15+ kids in one house...insane!! but it was fun! we got to spend a few days riding our quads & dirtbikes (of which i have some scrapes & bruises)! We had a birthday party for my cousin turning 10 at my uncle's restaurant Grumpy Jake's! On the way home we stopped to fill our cooler with the last little bit of snow on the side of the road! It was fun spending time with family & in the cool weather!

The day has finally arrived! i completed my 11 month course of cosmetology from Carsten's Aveda Institute! im very excited! My last day was Tuesday the 10th! now all i have to do is take the State Board test to get my license and i can get a job! ahh!

So tomorrow is officially my last day of school!! woo hoo! in honor of graduating i made cupcakes for most of the girls in school! it took me most of the afternoon but it was worth it! they turned out cute! i had a little help gathering supplies from professional cake & cookie decorator Melissa Lee from my ward! Thanks! it made them twice as good! They are pretty simple! Just yellow cake mix, vanilla frosting, rainbow edible glitter, edible silver beads, and frozed chocolate W's!

Let It Snow!

President's Day is a beautiful day! A few friends and I took a drive to the gravel pits outside of Stawberry! (A deliciously named city!) There was tons of snow, perfect for an attempt on the new sleds we bought in Payson! After a few spills (Britt landing on Kaitlin) and successful flights off the jumps (boys are crazy!) we had a snowball fight! Then our snowman ended up being a dog & my feet froze so we called it a day! As we were loading our stuff into the expedition (thanks mom!) the teenage boys parked a few cars away were nice enough to entertain us with a dance show! It was completely DISTURBING! Needless to say their dancing in the street while reducing the amount of clothes they were wearing will eventually end up on YouTube & i advise no one to watch it! haha Overall the trip was fun and i say let it snow!
